OBJECTIVES

English for Business studies is a course specialised for non-native English speakers.

English for Business studies is a course specialised for non-native English speakers. It provides students with the opportunity to speak on general topics, communicate in the business setting, and understand text on business organisation and management.

Apart from the fundamentals of grammar and vocabulary, students are taught valuable reading and writing skills, improving their overall language capacity and equipping them to meet the rigour of the business world.

Using the Neuro-Cognitive Pedagogical and “Tell, Show and Do” models, our English for Business studies course is unique and effective. Teachers enable their students to excel in their goals and objectives. Students understand a specific concept, see how it is utilised and then practice using exercises. Through participation in active discussion, students are given the opportunity to strengthen their grasp of the language.

COURSE STRUCTURE

It’s as simple as 1 and 2. Each lesson lasts 2 hours and students are tested with a mid-term continuous assessment and a final exam.

Part A (B-EBS 001): Beginner’s English for Business Studies
15 hours a week x 16 weeks

Part B (I-EBS 002): Intermediate English for Business Studies
15 hours a week x 20 weeks

CERTIFICATION AND MATERIALS

Certification

At the end of the B-EBS 001 course, students are qualified to the level of IELTS 4.5.
At the end of the I-EBS 002 course, students are qualified to the level of IELTS 5.5.

Materials

Additional teaching resources produced by the trainers or obtained from a variety of sources (internet, newspapers, magazines, video, etc.) might be used to supplement the course. Students are also recommended textbooks for each level of the course.

B-EBS 001

Beginner’s English

At this level, students are taught the fundamental basics of English and familiarised with popular English topics.

Stage 1: Lessons 1-12

I-EBS 002

Intermediate English

Stage 1: Lessons 1-10
Refresher of general English, Work, Time, Products, Services, Presentations, Socialising, Meetings, etc.
CONTINUOUS EXAMINATION

Stage 2: Lessons 1-10
Jobs, People and Organisations, Marketing, Finance, Economy, Ethics, Personal skills, Culture, Correspondences, Business Skills, etc.
FINAL EXAMINATION
